Do you still get to spend time with your family and freinds doing the thing you enjoy doing when your not on duty because of such a demading schedule?

I attend school full time, work part time for the campus PD, run duty with the rescue squad, and can still manage to go out with friends once in a while. My secret? I don't sleep. Laughing For those of you who have earned a full-time sworn position, that's got to be next to impossible to do. How do you do it?

Luckily, I'm on a smaller specialized team and we look out for each other as we all know, family comes first. It was much harder when I was working a regular Troop. The important thing to keep in mind is quality rather than quantity. Dinner together without disturbances, catch in the back yard, a school play, or even just a quiet night watching a movie with the wife a cell phones off goes a long way.
