Our Governer has advised he will recommend, to the legislature, a 6% pay reduction and the suspension of annual pay raises and longevity pay to all State of Nevada employees, including all divisions of the department of public safety. No layoffs, however.

Anyone else seeing things like this?

MARYLAND STATE POLICE MISSED THE FIRST CUT, BUT I'M SURE THAT'S SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

The RCMP has just been raped to the tune of a 2% clawback. Federal Govt 2 year retroactive ( they're always a year late) raises were to be 3.5% in 2008 and 3.5% in 2009. Late Dec 2008 thay announced that due to financial restraints they would rip up the agreement and only give us 1 1/2%. Cost me about $5000 in retirement pay and my pension is 2% lower for the rest of my life.

While screaming poorhouse to us, they give the Inside Postal Workers a 4 year contract with a 2.75 % raise each year of the 4 year contract and then run a $40 BILLION dollar deficit to do things like bail out GM and Ford. I really am happy my retirement clawback is going to fund the pension plans and paycheques of workers making $60 and hour as line workers or millions as executives. I appreciate the chance to sacrifice for the common good like this.

By the way, our officers get performance bonuses and the civilian Commissioner gets a raise...and Federal Judges are getting a 17% raise. Orwell was right...I just wish I was one of the animals that was more equal than other animals. Thought Orwell said Pigs were? Not in Canada I guess??
